A glorious spot on a sunny day, the terrace had so much untapped potential. Simon Wyatt-Budd, owner of Soho but an architect by trade, saw the opportunity to capitalise on the space and sought Broadview to design and install a system that would offer full protection on wet weather days. However, this area is also a sun trap in the evenings, attracting customers to the venue, so Simon was keen not to lose this appeal. The overall idea was to achieve extra cover all year round and an independent party space whatever the weather, with one of the best views in town. The bar also required cover for smokers in the downstairs terrace area.

Restaurants and attractions with these types of view are in high demand and so much valuable space is wasted through the winter months and wet summer days. That’s where Broadview come into play, providing workable, revenue generating solutions for everyone. As with many seaside towns and busy tourist spots inland, many activities are outdoors, with Bournemouth attracting tourists for its 7 miles of golden sands. Can you imagine what happens when it rains? You’ve got it, the attractions and restaurants fill up fast with customers spending their holiday funds. It’s just not practical to turn people away because the main building is full and the outside area sits empty.

The owners had identified that during busy periods they could fill the restaurant twice over. They were concerned that they were neglecting their clients' needs and limiting their potential where dining was concerned. An area which provides them with their best return.
