The Broadview Solution
Further to consultations with the Upham Pub Group, Broadview established that the Brustor B200 would offer them the perfect solution. Not only does this structure look impressive and in keeping with the building but offers various options through its rotating louvre roof and sliding glass wall panels. During the summer the terrace can be opened up to feel like you are outside whilst in the winter a warm and ambient environment is created at the flick of a switch. The roof and the doors close to give an extension to the restaurant, with heaters and lighting offering a cosy and stylish finish to the area.
The B200 is built with a robust aluminum frame and a bladed roof format. It has fully automatic louvres rotating through 150 degrees to easily regulate sunlight and temperature. The discreet gutter system directs all collected water through the internal drainage system and down through the support legs. The area covered is 48 m2 increasing covers by approx 48 per sitting. The client opted to install Solarlux sliding glass panels along the open sides of the structure rather than the PVC screens that come as standard. These toughened glass panels (BS6206A) are completely frameless offering uninterrupted views and superior noise reduction. A custom manufactured fire door was installed to allow access from the car park when required; this was of particular importance to the client as it gives them the ability to offer the outside space for private functions such as weddings, birthdays or corporate functions and allows the guests to be completely separate from the rest of the venue if desired.
The Upham Group opted for an anthracite grey frame and white louvres, which gave it a very contemporary feel and the white louvres allowed for a lighter feeling when they are fully closed. They also selected the XL blade version of roof design which creates a calmer feeling when sitting below the structure.
Radio-controlled patio heaters and LED lighting were installed throughout the structure for extra comfort and to ensure the space can be used day or night 365 days a year, all controlled via a wireless control pad.
