The Broadview Solution:
After a consultation with the client, an extensive assessment of the site was performed by our experts to ensure the placement of the awnings would be safe and secure. Shortly after Broadview started designing, supplying and installing the external awnings to accommodate Dulwich Prep London’s detailed brief.
We installed four motorised bespoke Sunrain awning systems to the exterior of four classrooms. The remote controlled awnings are fully retractable and can open or retract in a flash, ideal for teachers and pupils alike to have fast protection from weather elements. The awnings have a bespoke gutter system, that diverts rainwater away from anyone underneath into the surrounding goal post structure, that’s placed over the classroom windows. Constructed from 120mm by 120mm galvanised steel, the goal posts were inserted one metre into the ground in order to withstand any strain.
The awnings framework is powder-coated aluminium to complement the building’s external aesthetics. Made of PVC material the cream awnings will be long-lasting for Dulwich Prep London, as they’re easy to clean and low maintenance with waterproof benefits the new awnings are a perfect addition to the school. The Sunrain awnings are easily activated by the latest Somfy remote control technology to ensure user-friendliness. The Somfy hardware consists of four Centralis wall-mounted switches, which have been installed in each classroom to enable teachers to control, and one Telis 4 hand-held master control for the caretaker. Two wind sensors were also installed for security reasons, security was important to our client. The installation of the bespoke awnings took eight days for our experts.
